(Ar-Rahman) 55 : 15
وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِنْ مَارِجٍ مِنْ نَارٍ
And He created the Jinn from the flames of fire.
It is told in verse 15: 27 that Jinn (Sprites) were created before mankind was created. See explanation 7: 12.
